Senior Product Designer

About Us

Altitude is building the world's leading platform dedicated to elevating clinician performance. We partner with nurse practitioners and healthcare organizations to transform investments in clinician skills into better patient care and financial outcomes. We focus first on NPs because they are the fastest-growing healthcare provider group and practice independently in more than 25 states.
Why now? Recent breakthroughs in AI, advances in performance coaching, and the growing physician shortage make investing in clinicians like nurse practitioners essential for improving American healthcare.
You will be joining a deeply experienced team with decades of operating experience in care delivery and healthcare technology. The team is led by Prabhjot Singh, MD, PhD (sold CHW cares to Oak Street Health, senior advisor and co-chair AI task force at Peterson Health Technology Institute) and Abhishek Gupta (ex-Oak St NY market leader, former Zus and MVP Ventures) with Margaret McKenna (former CTO Devoted Health) as board member and tech advisor.
We are supported by top-tier VCs in healthcare and AI, including Lerer Hippeau, AlleyCorp, Tau Ventures, Chrysalis, MVP Ventures and Sequel, along with notable angels such as Aaron Patzer (Co-founder Vital.io, founder of Mint.com), Ankit Jain (CEO Infinitus, founder of Gradient Ventures), Jordan Schlain (Founder of Private Medical, America's top concierge medicine service), Kavita Patel (Venture Partner at NEA and former Obama senior policy advisor), Ashwin Vasan (former NYC Health Commissioner), Duncan Greenburg (former SVP Product at Oscar Health), Prabhdeep Singh (former Chief Growth Officer at Clover Health), and Saharsh Patel (CEO Noble, former COO Canvas Medical).

The Role

As one of the first design hires at Altitude, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape not just our product, but also the future of how clinicians deliver care. Reporting directly to the Head of Design, you’ll own large, complex projects with significant autonomy. You’ll partner closely with clinicians, engineers, and product leaders to craft intuitive, elegant solutions that streamline healthcare delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the early startup environment—where structure is still forming, responsibilities are broad, and your decisions have outsized impact.

What You'll Do

Lead the end-to-end design process for our core clinician-facing product, from discovery through launch
Drive user research with clinicians and practice managers to uncover insights and validate solutions
Translate complex workflows into simple, intuitive experiences through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
Collaborate daily with engineering to ensure designs are shipped with quality and polish
Establish and evolve our design system and visual language to scale with the product
Influence product strategy and roadmap by bringing design thinking into cross-functional conversations
Act as a thought partner to clinical and operations leaders, advocating for user needs at every step

What We're Looking For

6+ years of product design experience, with strong hybrid UX/UI skills demonstrated in a compelling portfolio
Background in healthcare, B2B, or similarly complex domains a plus
Track record of designing and shipping end-to-end products in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Deep user empathy with a bias toward action and simplification
Proficiency in Figma and familiarity in AI prototyping tools (lovable, magic patterns etc.); ability to create low- and high-fidelity prototypes
Comfortable leading big projects with minimal oversight; energized by autonomy and responsibility
Excited by the challenge (and opportunity) of building in an early-stage startup with limited structure
Strong product sense—you think beyond pixels and consider workflows, trade-offs, and business goals

Why Join Us

At Altitude, your work won’t sit on a shelf—it will be in the hands of clinicians, powering better patient care every day. You’ll have room to experiment, grow, and make your mark in a company that’s still defining itself. If you’re looking for impact, ownership, and the chance to shape both a product and a design culture from the ground up, we’d love to meet you.
