About You and The Role
At Zipline, our infrastructure powers life-saving autonomous deliveries worldwide. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, securing, and optimizing on-prem and cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Manage virtual machines, containers (Kubernetes), and storage solutions (SAN, NAS).
- Implement security best practices, proactive monitoring, and incident response to detect and resolve threats. Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvements.
- Disaster Recovery & Compliance – Develop and test disaster recovery (DR) strategies, define recovery objectives (RTO, RPO), and ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
- Partner with Engineering, Security, and IT teams, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years managing cloud and on-prem infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Expertise in Windows/Linux systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking (VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP, routing, switching).
- Experience with automation and config management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef) and monitoring/logging solutions (Nagios, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
What Else You Need to Know
The starting cash range for this role is $150,000 - $185,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; overtime pay; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
