About You and The Role

As the Procurement Analyst for Africa, you will work closely with facility leads and the strategic finance team to control costs on purchases and optimize procurement processes at Zipline. Our operations involve the procurement of various supplies and contract negotiations and the procurement analyst will help manage the procurement processes, ensure timely delivery of supplies, minimize operational costs, and have a strong understanding of CAPEX (Capital Expenditures), OPEX (Operational Expenditures), as well as high-level procurement, strategic planning, and budget management. Your expertise will ensure the effective allocation of resources, cost control, and the ability to make informed decisions that align with our long-term business objectives.

What You'll Do

1. Cost Control: You will be instrumental in controlling purchase costs by managing our consolidated plans for each country and negotiating favorable contracts.
2. Collaboration with Facility Leads: You will work closely with facility leads to understand their specific procurement needs and requirements and share necessary approvals. By fostering strong communication channels and aligning procurement activities with the facility team, you will ensure that purchasing decisions are tailored to meet operational demands while optimizing costs.
3. Strategic Finance Team Alignment: Collaboration with the strategic finance team is essential for aligning procurement activities with overall financial goals and objectives. You will work with the strategic finance team to develop cost control measures, analyze procurement spending data, and forecast future procurement needs. This collaborative approach will ensure that procurement decisions are aligned with Zipline's financial strategies.
4. Supplier Sourcing & Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers is crucial for this role in ensuring timely delivery of supplies and securing favorable terms. You will establish strong supplier partnerships, negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance to mitigate risks and optimize procurement outcomes.

What You'll Bring

• At Least 7 years of experience in procurement, or related roles preferably in logistics or technology industries.
• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong data gathering and analytics and reporting skills. Ability to work efficiently with computing systems and procurement software systems.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, best practices and excellent sourcing processes.
• Experience mentoring and providing guidance to teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
