The Role

We’re seeking an HR Director to lead and evolve People & Culture at VeeFriends. This role is critical in shaping our team’s experience as we scale, while respecting the unique dynamic of a founder-led organization. Our founder Gary Vaynerchuk has distinct, people-first views on culture, leadership, and team building—our HR Director will act as a translator of that philosophy into practical systems, processes, and policies that help our team thrive.

You will be the first dedicated senior HR leader at VeeFriends, responsible for building the foundation of People & Culture and scaling it in step with our growth. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team and directly influence the DNA of a culture-led brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the founder, executive leadership, and managers to build an authentic, high-performance culture aligned with VeeFriends’ values.


  • Lead and oversee HR functions across employee experience, talent acquisition, learning & development, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and compliance.


  • Translate Gary Vaynerchuk’s people philosophy into actionable, scalable HR frameworks that balance empathy, accountability, and speed, to name a few of our core tenants


  • Design and manage people operations infrastructure, and the full lifecycle of employee engagement with the company. This requires a strong knowledge of ideally Rippling HRIS, PEOs, payroll, benefits, and/or broader HR tech tools.


  • Develop thoughtful approaches to scaling HR in early- and growth-stage environments, including playbooks for onboarding, career pathways, manager enablement, and change management. (We’re nearing a headcount of 50 people, while introducing newer team functions and skillsets as our business lines expand)


  • Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations on workforce planning, headcount forecasting, and compensation philosophies and tactical planning.


  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders and employees, maintaining high trust and transparency across the organization.


  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Experience and deep understanding of every-changing HR Compliance is an utmost necessity.


Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 2 years at the Director level or higher.


  • Strongly preferred: experience leading People & Culture in early- and growth-stage startups where processes are built from scratch.


  • Deep fluency with Rippling HRIS and familiarity with PEO models and wider HR technology suites.


  • Strong grasp of compliance and employee relations, balanced with an entrepreneurial mindset.


  • Demonstrated ability to partner with founder-led executive teams, translating vision into scalable systems.


  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills; thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


  • A balance of strategic HR leadership with a roll-up-your-sleeves operator mentality.
