The team is undergoing responsible and methodic growth, currently made up of 40 employees, and backed by investment from top-tier VC firms, led by Andreesen Horowitz. With continued investment and development of our ambitious, highly-talented, and kind team of people, we’re recruiting a Human Resources Generalist to help support our People Operations, reporting to our EVP of Operations & Commerce.
You will help build and implement a top-tier talent & people experience program. This spans the full lifecycle of People at VeeFriends - from recruitment and onboarding (methodic and conservative recruitment is planned ahead in 2023-2024), performance management, engagement and learning & development. You will balance fun, engaging employee experience with appropriate and necessary compliance. Above all, you will lead a focused Hybrid-IRL & Remote culture that delivers on our ambitious business goals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Support cross-functional business partners by fostering strong relationships - providing coaching and consultative support to department heads and managers, while advocating and advising all employees to drive strong engagement
  • Develop and implement programs to the entirety of our departments, that range across performance management, compensation & benefits, recognition, employee relations, learning & development, onboarding & offboarding, and culture team building activities
  • Support leadership in developing and implementing DEI programs, culture building initiatives, and overall employee experience - to make our teams better, stronger, equitable, and united
  • Leverage and Manage PEO (professional employer organization) for the maintenance and management of Payroll, Compensation, aspects of Benefits, and Compliance services.
  • Work alongside people and resources (both internal employees and outsourced partners) to ensure our HR practices integrate and support our back-office functions - particularly Finance and Legal

Our ideal candidates comes with:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant Human Resources and People Operations experience - preferably within start-ups and/or high-growth, entrepreneurial-led organizations, and Hybrid Office-and-Remote work environments
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR Practices, HR software platforms (we currently use Rippling and PrestigePEO) and experience managing the full employee lifecycle
  • Exceptional combination of EQ (a must!), IQ, and problem solving skills
  • Proven experience with compliance & US employment laws (particularly New York State but federal laws as well)
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation plans - base, variable & performance, and/or equity-based
  • Excellent and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A track record of cross-functional collaboration across all levels of an organization, amid change management and hyper growth
  • Close proximity to our New York City based offices is a big plus
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds.

  • The salary range of this role $80-105K (commensurate with experience)
