Vangst is partnering with a growing cannabis operator in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area to find an experienced Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on cost accounting position supporting cultivation and manufacturing operations. You'll own standard costing, inventory valuation, COGS analysis, and month-end close processes, working closely with

operations and production teams to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain standard costs, including labor, overhead, and material cost components.
  • Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and month-end COGS analysis.
  • Conduct variance analysis (standard vs. actual) and report on margins and cost drivers.
  • Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audit processes.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of month-end close.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations and production teams to identify and resolve cost
  • discrepancies.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Hands-on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing, production, or inventory-based operating environment.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Cannabis industry experience is a significant plus, though not required.

Compensation & Logistics

  • $90,000–$110,000 base salary, depending on experience, + full benefits.
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
  • Full-time, in-office role in Scottsdale, AZ.
