The Role:

Director of Retail

Location:

• Colorado (Hybrid – in office 2 days/week in Denver)

• Colorado travel required

Compensation:

• $120,000–$140,000+ (negotiable DOE)

• Relocation stipend available

• Bonus

About:

We are partnering with one of the largest cannabis retailers and are seeking a strategic Director of Retail to oversee multiple dispensaries in Colorado.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven multi-unit retail leader to help drive operational excellence, sales growth, employee engagement, and customer experience across a high-volume retail footprint in one of the nation’s most established cannabis markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop District Managers and multi-unit retail teams

• Drive sales growth, profitability, and customer experience initiatives

• Analyze KPIs, financials, labor, and operational performance metrics

• Develop and execute retail strategies, OKRs, and forecasting plans

• Oversee SOP execution, compliance, and operational consistency across stores

• Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Compliance, and Leadership teams

• Support inventory, merchandising, pricing, promotional planning, and ROI analysis

• Coach and mentor leadership teams while fostering accountability and engagement

• Maintain compliance with Colorado MED and METRC regulations

Ideal Background:

• 7+ years of retail management experience

• Strong multi-unit cannabis retail leadership experience (preferred but not required)

• Experience directly managing District or Regional Managers

• Strong operational, analytical, and financial acumen

• Experience working within highly regulated environments

• Proven ability to scale operations, improve KPIs, and lead high-performing teams

Systems Experience Preferred:

• Dutchie

• METRC

• Paragon

• ERP systems

• SpringBig

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: BS/BA in retail management or business management, or related

• Cannabis industry experience preferred

• Proficient computer skills, including the G Suite

• Experience in a regulated company environment

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting for extended periods.

• Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching,

walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitively
