Cultivation Manager

A well-established and highly successful multi-state cannabis operator—originally rooted in California and now expanded across Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and New York—is seeking a Cultivation Manager to oversee operations at their newly launched indoor cultivation facility in Queens. This facility operates a 220-light canopy and specializes in premium packaged flower and pre-roll production, with a focus on exotic and artisanal strains.

Position Overview

This role involves overseeing operations in the indoor cultivation facility. The Cultivation Manager will be responsible for leading daily production activities while ensuring efficiency, consistency, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a strong, hands-on leader with a positive, collaborative attitude and a deep understanding of commercial cannabis cultivation.

This is a highly operational role where experience with drip irrigation systems, equipment maintenance, and environmental controls is essential to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of indoor cultivation operations from propagation through harvest
  • Lead, manage, and support cultivation staff to ensure efficient production workflows
  • Implement and maintain SOPs, protocols, and cultivation standards in alignment with company requirements
  • Ensure cultivation and processing areas are clean, organized, and fully operational
  • Coordinate and oversee tasks, including propagation, harvest, curing, trimming, and packaging preparation
  • Assist with managing staff schedules, cultivation processes, inventory, and vendor coordination
  • Maintain post-harvest quality standards, including curing, trim quality, and sampling for state testing
  • Ensure full compliance with all state regulatory requirements and proper documentation
  • Maintain accurate plant tracking and inventory through METRC
  • Provide data, reporting, and feedback to leadership on operational performance
  • Support inspections and assist across departments as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of professional cannabis cultivation experience (commercial environment required)
  • Minimum 2+ years of management or supervisory experience
  • Strong drip irrigation experience is required
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot cultivation equipment and environmental systems
  • Strong understanding of indoor cultivation environments, plant health, and yield optimization
  • Experience with post-harvest processes, including curing, trimming, and quality control
  • Familiarity with METRC and state compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused approach

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (100 lbs with assistance)
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity levels, and greenhouse/indoor environments
  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods

Schedule

  • Full-time, 5 days a week (8-hour shifts; Tuesday-Saturday; Sunday-Thursday)
  • Additional coverage may be required based on operational needs

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary is negotiable up to $92,000 annually, based on experience
