Vangst is partnering with a rapidly growing, vertically integrated cannabis manufacturer to hire an experienced Production Manager to oversee pre-roll and flower manufacturing operations in Nevada.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing end-to-end production processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving efficiencies, and leading large-scale production teams in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
Position Overview
The Production Manager will oversee all aspects of cannabis flower and pre-roll manufacturing—from raw material input through formulation and packaging. This individual will be accountable for production throughput, machine efficiency, regulatory compliance, team performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader who thrives in structured manufacturing environments, understands process optimization, and has experience managing large production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Production Oversight
- Manage full-cycle production operations, including material intake, refinement, formulation, and packaging
- Ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations
- Maintain production efficiency and machine uptime; troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed
- Optimize labor allocation to maximize production output
- Oversee SKU/menu management to ensure inventory levels meet demand
- Support sales teams with accurate production schedules and restock timelines
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors and teams (50+ employees)
- Build a culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Establish and track KPIs across production lines
- Standardize workflows and improve operational processes
Quality & Compliance
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure product consistency and purity
- Partner with supervisors to quickly resolve quality concerns
- Ensure all documentation and operational processes meet regulatory standards
Planning & Strategy
- Collaborate with cultivation and sales teams to align production with market demand
- Develop and manage production schedules, budgets, and timelines
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through automation and process improvements
- Evaluate and implement technologies to improve efficiency and product quality
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or related field
- 3–5+ years of managerial experience in cannabis manufacturing or similar regulated production environments
- Strong knowledge of production workflows (cannabis pre-roll and/or flower experience highly preferred)
- Experience managing 50+ production staff, including supervisors
- Background in process development, deployment, and improvement
- Proficiency in ERP systems, production planning tools, Google Sheets, and Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Project management experience preferred
- Ability to travel out of state during initial onboarding (30–60 days) with limited notice
- Must be able to pass background and reference checks
