Inventory Manager – Cannabis Manufacturing
Location: Canada
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 CAD
Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Vangst is partnering with a licensed cannabis manufacturer in Canada to hire an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee inventory control, compliance tracking, and fulfillment operations within a regulated production environment.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for maintaining accurate inventory documentation across receiving, production, packaging, testing, and sales fulfillment while ensuring strict compliance with government regulations.
Position Summary
The Inventory Manager will lead all inventory control functions with a strong focus on compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency. This individual will oversee order fulfillment, manage tracking systems (including CTLS), supervise inventory staff, and serve as a key point of contact for internal sales teams.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and has experience working within regulated industries such as cannabis, food, or beverage manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Compliance
- Document and track all inbound and outbound inventory within CTLS and applicable government tracking systems
- Conduct and oversee daily physical inventory audits and monthly reconciliations
- Ensure all product is clearly labeled, compliant, and properly stored
- Maintain organized and secure inventory vaults
- Log transfers from raw materials through finished packaged goods
- Identify and report damaged or non-conforming products
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant inventory environment
Fulfillment & Operations
- Oversee daily order fulfillment and related documentation
- Coordinate schedules, assign tasks, and support daily operational plans
- Collaborate closely with sales representatives regarding order status and inventory levels
- Review and approve cycle counts and end-of-month counts
Leadership & Supervision
- Directly supervise and train inventory staff
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching
- Monitor time and attendance
- Assist with planning, assigning, and directing work
- Support team operations when supervisors are unavailable
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or production manufacturing (food, beverage, or cannabis preferred)
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-urgency environments
- Cannabis tracking experience (CTLS preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Slack; experience with Jira or similar platforms preferred
- Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Must be 19 years of age or older (provincial requirement)
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain required permits/licenses
- ServSafe, Food Handler’s, or FOODSAFE Level 1 certification preferred
- Occasional travel between sites may be required
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to airborne particles and fluctuating temperatures
- Work may require use of hairnets, gloves, and non-slip footwear
- Repetitive motion tasks required
