About the Opportunity:
Vangst is hiring a Sales Director on behalf of a premium consumer cannabis brand seeking to lead and scale its California sales organization. This is a high-impact, executive-level role that blends strategic oversight with hands-on field leadership.
The ideal candidate is a performance-driven sales leader who values structure, accountability, and disciplined execution — and is equally comfortable in executive meetings and in retail environments. This role will play a critical part in driving statewide growth and strengthening key retail partnerships.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a statewide sales strategy aligned with aggressive growth goals
- Own revenue forecasting, pipeline management, and expansion planning
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure disciplined, high-impact go-to-market execution
Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing regional sales team
- Establish clear KPIs, reporting cadence, and accountability systems
- Foster a collaborative, results-oriented sales culture
Retail & Account Development
- Maintain executive-level relationships with key retail and distribution partners
- Identify and secure new retail opportunities across California
- Drive in-store activation, merchandising, and promotional strategy
Field Engagement
- Conduct regular in-market visits and ride-alongs
- Travel throughout California to support key accounts and regional initiatives
- Represent the brand at industry events and trade gatherings
What You Bring
- 5–8 years of progressive sales leadership experience
- Background in regulated industries and/or premium consumer brands preferred
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth in competitive markets
- Experience building, leading, and scaling sales teams
- Strong forecasting, revenue planning, and pipeline management expertise
- Executive-level communication skills and client-facing presence
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment (in-office collaboration + remote flexibility)
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout California
