Compensation & OTE: Base salary of $175,000–$200,000 with a 50% target bonus tied to company performance. The role is equity eligible and participates in an annual bonus plan. Total cash compensation has the potential to reach 50–100% of base salary if company growth targets (~$70M revenue) are achieved.
Our Client, a rapidly growing cannabis manufacturing and branded products company in New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales to lead all sales strategy and execution across retail accounts. This executive role is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing sales leadership, and scaling a high-performing sales organization across a multi-brand portfolio.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Sales will play a critical role in shaping go-to-market strategy and supporting the company’s aggressive growth goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy for packaged goods sold exclusively to retail
- Drive revenue growth across owned brands and third-party brands, ensuring brand-specific positioning and messaging are executed consistently in the market
- Lead and manage the sales organization, including: Territory Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and Sales Support
- Partner closely with the Brand Manager, who oversees field marketing and reports into Sales
- Establish and manage sales KPIs, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks
- Own sales forecasting, demand planning, and pipeline visibility
- Design and execute promotional programming, informed by weekly retail data and sell-through performance
- Serve as the senior sales leader in meetings with retail operators, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership
- Provide consistent market feedback on pricing, product performance, competitive dynamics, and customer needs
- Lead recruiting, onboarding, training, and ongoing skill development of the sales team
- Support 1–2 product launches per quarter, coordinating with brand, operations, and manufacturing teams
- Manage a mix of early-career and seasoned sales professionals, fostering growth, accountability, and career progression
- Operate as a visible, hands-on leader with strong executive presence and the ability to “sell the story” to operators

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience, with 2+ years in a Director-level or senior leadership role
- Proven success driving revenue growth in CPG, cannabis, or regulated packaged-goods environments
- Experience leading and scaling multi-level sales teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple brands and product categories
- Strong background in sales forecasting, KPI development, and performance management
- Ability to lead executive-level meetings with retail operators and internal stakeholders
- Hands-on, player-coach leadership style with strong accountability
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-starter comfortable working directly with a CEO in a fast-paced growth environment
- Ability to be based in or regularly support the New Jersey market
