Based in Boston, this is a hybrid position that requires 2-3 days in the office.

As we continue to scale our global reach, we are seeking a Merchant to partner with our finance, product design, and logistics teams in driving inventory strategy, forecasting, and assortment optimization. You’ll play a critical role ensuring our product flow, pricing, size curves, and replenishment decisions are aligned with growth goals and brand standards. You will report into the VP of Operations and work closely with cross-functional teams and sales channel leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop seasonal hindsighting by pulling/interpreting data, researching anomalies, benchmarking KPIs vs historical and industry standards, and translating findings into actionable business strategies
- Work with product managers & developers on a pre-line process to inform seasonal open-to-buy (OTB) plans by category — defining breadth, depth, style rankings, channel availability across Ecom, Retail, Wholesale
- Support the team in determining product-specific target retail prices, informed by competitive landscape and strategic positioning as well as margin targets aligned with financial plan
- Own item and creation processes, leveraging information across PLM system and NetSuite as ERP
- Build and maintain robust merchandise forecasts (sales, gross profit, unit flow) by month and channel, including full price and markdown strategies.
- Leverage analysis of historical trends and current performance to identify risk, opportunity, and course-corrections.
- Produce in-depth return-rate and trends analysis by category; source customer feedback from reviews, store managers, wholesale partners, etc. and share insights to inform design, production, and quality decisions.
- Partner closely with finance and operations leadership to streamline forecasting workflows, template generation, and cross-team communication.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of planning experience in a DTC or digitally native apparel/active/lifestyle brand managing complex, growing e-commerce assortments.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills – comfortable working with large datasets, financial models, and retail math.
- Highly proficient in Excel and Google Sheets – able to architect dynamic, scalable forecasting and inventory models.
- Strong project management skills; proven ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders and deliver on-time outcomes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication – able to articulate complex insights clearly and influence business decisions.
- A self-starter mindset with high intellectual curiosity; thrives in ambiguity and fast-moving environments.
- Attention to detail, rigor, and a customer-first focus.
- Experience with systems such as Shopify, inventory planning tools, Netsuite, or assortment planning platforms is a plus.
- Passion for running, sportswear, or active-lifestyle brands (or desire to learn) is a strong cultural fit.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or analytical discipline preferred.
