Location: Boston, MA
(1-2 days per week in the office on Newbury Street required)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated accountant with 1-2 years of experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist with various accounting functions, ensure accuracy in financial reporting, and contribute to the overall financial health of the company. In this role you will work closely with our Director of Accounting and CFO, gaining valuable hands-on experience and insight with a small team supporting a global, omnichannel brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
- Maintain general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals, as well as controls design and implementation.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance reports.
- Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Respond to inquiries from management and external parties regarding financial data.
- Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably public company audit or a corporate environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; working proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Netsuite) a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
