Topicals is seeking a visionary Head of Brand Marketing with a proven track record of fostering high performing teams in a fast paced, startup environment. This impact driving leader will oversee the Social, Influencer, Community and Product Marketing functions as part of the Marketing team and work closely with Topicals' CEO and Executive Team. The ideal candidate considers themselves both left and right brained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a brand marketing calendar, putting forward innovative and scrappy ideas that ladder up to our larger strategy and have clear brand awareness and brand equity goals.
  • Begin executing against our brand marketing initiatives, leading project management and reporting.
  • Manage and oversee creation of pitch decks and marketing decks requested by Sales team to support in achieving business KPIs.
  • Join relevant calls/meetings with external team members to manage strategic needs such as Market Meetings, In-The-Kitchens, etc.
  • Take ownership of the budget tracking for brand marketing.
  • Own quarterly awareness report, working cross functionally with partners from Finance, Social Insights and Strategy.
  • Develop 360s and own the go-to-market (GTM) process for all brand marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as an integral member of the brand marketing team, consistently bringing thoughtful, first-to-market ideas and a can-do attitude to the table--you are the person we rely on to get stuff done.
  • Establish a reliable network of creative and marketing partners to support us across a number of projects, including events, activations, content production and community-building.
  • Develop a learning review and socialization process for brand marketing projects to give executive and company-wide visibility into our work and demonstrate a commitment to adapting tactics as we test and learn.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on brand management or brand marketing; startup experience a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Key Retailers such as Sephora and Ulta.
  • Ability to track ROI from Marketing investments and campaigns.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing innovative & creative brand strategies that drive brand awareness, preference, and loyalty.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze market trends, consumer insights, and campaign performance data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, present marketing strategies and results to senior leadership, and negotiate with external partners.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a willingness to embrace change and drive continuous improvement.
