As an Industrial Engineer, Continuous Improvement Specialist in our fulfillment center, you play a vital role in our Operations team. You will lead improvement projects, design solutions for long-term company success, and create ways to maximize customer satisfaction. This role will require a strong blend of analysis and real-world application of continuous improvement concepts and principles. You will report to the Strategic Operations department and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to make these initiatives come to life.
What You'll Do
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to design and implement Safety, Ergonomics, Quality, Capacity, and Operational Performance solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen projects, value stream mapping, GEMBA walks, 5S projects, and help train managers and operations teams on Lean Principles.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
- Conduct time studies, establish labor standards, and set performance goals for operational tasks and processes.
- Develop and maintain process documentation such as standard operating procedures, process flows, and quality procedures. Audit processes for adherence.
- Support the Strategic Operations team in various tasks, projects, and large scale improvements related to operational excellence.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, a related field, or equivalent working experience.
- 3 - 5 years of work experience
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and implementation, process optimization, and workflow design. APICS/ASCM Certification a plus
- Creative problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, R).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills (English w/ Spanish a plus) to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Visio (or similar), SQL, and WMS software a plus
