Studs is an experiential retail and e-commerce brand that has re-imagined the ear piercing experience by offering consultative and expert needle piercing services, combined with a wide assortment of accessibly priced, on-trend earrings.
Based in New York City, this position will report to our VP of Operations. We are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager who has sufficient years of global procurement experience, ideally from within the healthcare/medical device industry and a logistics expert specializing in import logistics. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing global strategic sourcing, cost reduction and developing a supplier base in the supply category. You will also be responsible for supporting and optimizing the logistics process to ensure an efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods. This is a cross-functional role and you will collaborate closely with the HQ team, studios, suppliers/vendors and third party logistics partners.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Area:
- Analyze the current procurement process and identify global key suppliers and vendors for opportunities to outsource in the form of reducing costs and optimal service level delivery
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives including RFx engagement, negotiate and execution of agreements with reliable suppliers and vendors to strengthen our supply chain network and consistently deliver year-over-year savings to the bottom line
- Develop, analyze and present sourcing data to assist with targeting potential savings initiatives and supplier performance KPIa
- Manage supplier/vendor contracts and maintain relationships with all business partners
- Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain process and implement solutions to improve performance and mitigate risk
- Partner with Legal team and suppliers to ensure 100% regulatory compliance - meets legal requirements, quality and safety standards
- Own and drive day-to-day supplier management including cost, delivery and quality
- Forecast and optimize operating expenses with a focus on supply procurement and shipping spend to maximize P&L
- Identify and develop new sources for categories as needed
- Control the procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
Logistics Area:
- Oversee and manage the transportation of goods, including coordinating with carriers and monitoring service levels
- Identify opportunities for cost savings by analyzing logistics data, evaluating alternative transportation modes and implementing best practices
- Closely partner with internal departments to ensure proper classifications of inventory and supplies are in accordance with the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
- Manage HTS classification updates and reclassification initiatives input in ERP
- Provide guidance to external vendors to ensure compliance requirements, shipping documents and agreed procedure and policy are met
- Responsible for daily management of Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) and resolving any transportation issues related to shipments
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, supply chain, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years related to sourcing/contracting/purchasing function preferably in the healthcare organization and international shipping coordination role
- In-depth knowledge of preparing RFI, RFQ, RFP and reviewing contracts, invoicing and negotiation terms
- Ability to drive cost and process improvement
- Must have the ability to persuade stakeholders internally and suppliers externally through strong relationships
- Familiarity with customs valuation and HTS commodity classification
- MS Excel / Google Sheets Ninja and have the ability to research and analyze large amounts of data, with great attention to detail
- Knowledge of ERP is a plus
