Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Consultant, Strategic Platform & Program Administration to join our Cvent Consulting team. This senior role combines total event program strategy with deep, hands-on Cvent platform administration and serves as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients.

In this senior consulting role, the focus is on total meetings and events program strategy and ownership of the Cvent solution. The consultant designs and optimizes the overall program architecture, including governance, processes, workflows, data, and measurement. They serve as the strategic Cvent platform owner for enterprise accounts, overseeing everything from initial design through ongoing administration. Additionally, they lead complex, net-new builds and transform legacy or fragmented setups into scalable, well-governed programs.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead discovery and assessments of current meetings and events programs to drive improved adoption, compliance, data quality, and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Design future-state program models including event types, request channels, governance, and technology usage that enable scalable, stable programs with fewer manual workarounds and support tickets
  • Own Cvent configuration across production and sandbox environments (MRFs, workflows, Access Portals, Sourcing, Budget, templates) to ensure robust, repeatable architectures and reduced rework
  • Design and refine workflows and intake processes to streamline requests, approvals, and event builds, directly impacting efficiency and user experience
  • Build and manage Access Portals and enablement hubs for planners, agencies, and internal stakeholders to centralize information and drive consistent program usage
  • Structure programs and templates to support reporting, analytics, and KPIs for executives and operators, connecting Cvent usage to measurable business outcomes such as savings, revenue influence, risk reduction, and attendee experience
  • Advise on and support integrations with CRM, marketing automation, SSO, travel, webinar, and data warehouse tools, ensuring clean data flows and reliable reporting
  • Provide event-level consulting on Cvent best practices for registration, budgeting, communications, mobile, and onsite solutions so event-level insights roll up cleanly to program dashboards
  • Lead training, change management, and adoption for diverse global user groups, building confidence, consistency, and long-term platform engagement
  • Act as a trusted advisor, facilitating workshops, roadmaps, and governance forums with senior stakeholders to expand consulting scope and strengthen client advocacy

Here's What You Need:

  • Extensive enterprise Cvent administration experience across core modules (MRFs, Access Portals, Sourcing, Budget, Event Management, integrations)
  • Proven track record leading complex, end-to-end builds from requirements through design, testing, documentation, training, and rollout
  • Experience in total event program consulting: architecture, governance, stakeholder mapping, process design, KPI definition
  • Strong understanding of MarTech and event tech ecosystems (CRM, marketing automation, SSO/identity, webinar platforms, BI/reporting tools)
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills and comfort engaging senior and executive stakeholders
  • Experience designing and delivering training, enablement, and change-management programs for global audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred
  • Prior experience as a Principal or Senior Consultant (or equivalent senior-level role) in consulting, professional services, or strategic client services
  • Experience supporting global, multi-region programs with complex regulatory, localization, or data-handling requirements
  • Familiarity with data governance and analytics, including data models, validation rules, and reporting specifications
  • Background in meetings and events, marketing operations, or related domains
