In This Role, You Will:

The Scrum Master at Cvent (SM) facilitates processes, escalates impediments, manages risk, and helps to drive continuous improvement at the team level. The scrum master acts as a servant leader to the team and promotes scrum best practices and coaches the team to track and constantly improves its velocity. The Scrum Master is expected to handle 2-3 Sprint teams as a Scrum Master.

Position Duties

  • Helps to establish sprint cadence.
  • Coordinates with product owners to keep the sprint team’s backlog ready and groomed.
  • Facilitates sprint planning, review, daily scrum, refinement meetings, and retrospective events at the team level.
  • Publishes committed sprint objectives.
  • Identifies and escalates impediments.
  • Manage team or project level risks and issues and take corrective actions to mitigate them, develop mitigation strategies and support the teams in addressing challenges.
  • Maintains relevant metrics to help the team monitor their performance.
  • Coordinates elements of the sprint plan with other technology staff outside of the project.
  • Take responsibility for managing dependencies within the sprint team as well as those dependencies from other development or operations teams.
  • Participates as well as facilitate Scrum of Scrums.
  • Encourages Architect, UX, QT and Sprint team collaboration.
  • Coordinates timely response and support to production line customer issues and helps to ensure that team maintains adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Facilitate Project / Epic estimation process.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for integrating AI tools and automation into team processes for improved efficiency (e.g., backlog refinement, reporting, estimation, or retrospective analysis).
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project documentation such as sprint plans, burndown charts, and crucial project documents like the Risk Register and Project Charter. Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders regarding project progress and deliverables, ensuring they are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Actively encourage and guide the team in applying AI-driven insights to optimize workflows, improve sprint predictability, and address bottlenecks.
  • Communicates sprint/team or project status to stakeholders at a fixed cadence.
  • Coordinate work teams consisting of R&D / SRE / Cloud Operations / blended teams using agile methodologies.
  • Promotes adherence to Agile software development best practices.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary resources to complete their tasks.
  • Ensure that sprint team deliverables meet the required quality standards.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives at the team level.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to identify and resolve issues.
  • Acts as an Agile coach to the development team.

Here's What You Need:

  • 3-7 years of technical experience including 2-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
  • Understanding backlog tracking, burn down metrics, velocity, task definition, and other Agile terminology.
  • Large/enterprise application development experience using Agile methodologies preferred but not required.
  • Strong leadership, time management, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
  • Able to act as servant leader at the team level or project level.
  • Situational Awareness - Must be the first to notice differences and issues as they arise, make all necessary attempts to solve them before elevating them to management.
  • Drive for continuous improvement.
  • Quick learner - Must be able to quickly gain high level understanding of the technical and business domains of the development team.
  • Familiarity with modern AI-powered productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., AI meeting assistants, reporting bots, AI Agents, Glean, backlog analyzers etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to experiment with AI-driven solutions for workflow improvement.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are a must.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with Atlassian Tools such as Jira and Confluence preferred but not required.
  • Experience and knowledge of PI planning will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in project management will be an added advantage.
