Cvent, Inc. is seeking a bright, goal-oriented, high energy and hardworking individual to fill our open position for our Tysons Corner, VA office. The selected candidate will work on both domestic and international tax accounting, tax compliance and tax research; and will review and coordinate the work of 5-6 global tax team members. This is a fast-paced environment with an opportunity to grow your professional accounting and tax skills. This position reports to our Senior Director, Global Tax.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Support Senior Director, Global Tax with management of outsourced tax services including managing invoicing and PO set ups in Coupa, working with accounting on accruals, and working with FP&A on forecasting of expenses
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and year-end worldwide income tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740.
  • Research and document positions taken by the Company in the tax provision and income tax returns, including but not limited to analysis of tax technical issues, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowance, and APB 23.
  • Maintain documentation supporting the assurance that the group's tax accounting processes, workpapers, and related systems are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements.
  • Liaise with external advisors on various tax projects/initiatives as well as general tax compliance work.
  • Prepare calculations for estimated tax payments and extension requests (foreign, federal and multi-state)
  • Coordinate with treasury team on tax cash items, maintain treasury cash tax sheets
  • Support preparation of domestic and foreign federal, multi-state, and local income tax filings
  • Assist in foreign, federal and multi-state tax audits.
  • Assist in administration of the company’s overall corporate tax strategy (including international entities)
  • Reconcile various general ledger tax accounts.
  • Assist and prepare various non-income tax filings and business licenses

Here's What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA desired (or in the process of obtaining)
  • Minimum 4+ years of public and/or corporate tax experience (Big Four/National Firm experience highly preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ASC 740 and FIN 48
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US - GAAP)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Self-starter who is action oriented and possesses a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with strong Excel skills (Power Query, Index Match, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Experience with automation tools and processes preferred
