Cvent is seeking a Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Accounting to play a critical role in managing all accounting and financial reporting activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and post-merger integration. This highly visible role frequently interacts with executive management and cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate financial reporting, technical accounting compliance, and seamless integration of acquired entities’ accounting close processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, technical finance, and M&A, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing, and dynamic environment.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Lead and manage the accounting integration and implementation efforts for acquired companies, including harmonization of accounting policies, close processes, and transition of responsibilities.
  • Oversee the end-to-end post-merger integration (PMI) process to support accounting close, including administration of acquired entity ERP tools, preparation and review of accounting journal entries such as revenue, deferred revenue, and accruals, creation of close checklists, financial and accounting analysis of results, and implementation of Day 2 accounting activities.
  • Support Finance in due diligence efforts through all phases, including project management, valuation, due diligence, transaction documentation, closure, integration, and post-closing reporting.
  • Prepare and review purchase accounting journal entries in accordance with ASC 805 and ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (tax, HR, legal, business units) to ensure seamless integration and compliance with local and US GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain standard PMI playbooks and repeatable processes for both small and large acquisitions.
  • Perform technical accounting research, develop recommendations, and prepare technical accounting memos for acquisitions.
  • Present findings to senior management and assist in preparing documentation for the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company policies related to documentation of revenue, accruals, capitalized software, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Assist with documentation and data requests to support financial statement audits.
  • Support business units with strategy development and execution of integration plans.
  • Develop integration lessons learned and adapt them into future M&A activity.

Here's What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline required; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial experience, including direct experience with M&A transactions and post-merger integration.
  • Big Four accounting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 805 (Business Combinations), ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 360, and ASC 842.
  • Experience with international accounting, consolidations, and public company/SEC reporting.
  • Experience with ERP packages, Oracle, QuickBooks, and NetSuite
  • Strong technical accounting, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Self-starter who is action-oriented, detail-oriented, and able to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Integrity within a professional environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with Oracle E-Business Suite or similar accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience in the software and technology industry is a plus.
