The Position

As our first Head of Business Development and Partnerships, you will define and lead Sequencing.com’s revenue generating partnership strategy, building and scaling B2B2C channels that drive growth. You will develop high impact partnerships with healthcare providers, clinics, research organizations, and consumer health platforms, transforming our genomic and bioinformatics capabilities into scalable, integrated offerings. You will own the full partnership lifecycle, from sourcing and structuring deals to launching and scaling programs, with clear accountability for revenue performance, partner success, and channel expansion. As a foundational commercial leader, you will establish partnerships as a core growth engine for the business.

The Impact

  • Own partnership strategy and growth. Define and lead Sequencing.com’s partnership strategy, building a high impact pipeline of B2B and B2B2C opportunities that drive revenue, expand distribution, and establish partnerships as a core growth engine.
  • Build and scale the function. Establish and grow the Business Development and Partnerships function over time, including hiring, developing, and leading a high performing team to support expanding partnership channels and revenue goals.
  • Source, structure, and close strategic deals. Lead identification, prioritization, and negotiation of complex partnerships across healthcare, biotech, diagnostics, and digital health.
  • Own end to end partnership lifecycle. Ensure successful execution from deal to launch to scale, translating agreements into clear implementation plans, driving onboarding, and scaling partnerships into durable, revenue generating channels.
  • Develop scalable B2B2C channels. Design and operationalize partnership models with healthcare providers, clinics, research organizations, and platforms that expand access to Sequencing.com’s genomic capabilities.
  • Establish systems and performance visibility. Implement CRM infrastructure, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that provide real time visibility into pipeline, revenue, and partnership health.
  • Lead cross functional execution. Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Bioinformatics, and Customer Success to align roadmaps, enable integrations, launch partner offerings, and drive adoption.
  • Lead executive level relationship management. Build and maintain senior relationships with key partners, leading QBRs, performance reviews, and expansion strategies.

Dominant and Expressed Traits

  • 8+ plus years of experience in business development and strategic partnerships, with significant time spent in biotech, diagnostics, digital health, or closely related industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience owning partnership strategy and execution, including closing complex B2B or B2B2C deals and taking them from signed to scaled.
  • Familiarity with genomics, whole genome sequencing, or diagnostics, and enthusiasm for making complex genetic insights accessible and actionable.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a track record of structuring deals that balance impact, sustainable growth, and long term partner value.
  • Hands on experience building and refining systems and workflows that support partnership teams, including effective CRM usage and performance dashboards.
  • Proven success measured by quality and velocity of partnership pipeline, closed and activated deals, utilization and engagement, onboarding and fulfillment performance against SLAs, and sustained partner satisfaction.
  • Comfort working with data and financial models to understand partnership performance and identify optimization levers.
  • Comfort working in a fast paced, unstructured startup environment.
  • Based in or willing to work remotely from the United States, with the ability to collaborate across a distributed team.
