Marigold has experienced tremendous growth in the last few years as a family of marketing technology brands. As we continue to grow, we are looking to add another Commercial Counsel to join our legal team. The right candidate will be a proactive, collaborative, business-minded, creative team player with experience drafting and negotiating sales - supporting agreements.

What will a Commercial Counsel at Marigold do?

  • Support the global sales team and internal business teams in structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and vendor agreements.

  • Identify contractual risks and suggest alternatives that lead to optimal solutions.

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure that contractual terms are compliant with legal, regulatory, and company policies and risk preferences.

  • Optimize contract templates, draft global corporate policies and processes, and develop sales training materials and customer-facing collateral.

  • Suggest and implement improvements to make legal operations more efficient.

  • Help with ad hoc projects as needed.

What does the qualified candidate look like?

  • Holds a Juris Doctorate and a license to practice law in the U.S.

  • Has 2+ years of contract review/negotiation experience and sales team support.

  • Demonstrates superior communication, negotiation, people, and organizational skills, and is comfortable and confident in dealing directly with customers, sales teams, and all levels of management.

  • Has excellent legal and contract negotiation skills and experience, ideally negotiating with enterprise customers for SaaS/web-based technology product.

  • Has strong business acumen and ability to build relationships across the business and collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems.

  • Is highly self-sufficient; can operate with little guidance, while still escalating issues/seeking guidance appropriately.

  • Is intellectually curious, seeking to thoroughly investigate any situation to find creative solutions.

  • Prioritizes organized thinking and recordkeeping.
