Altus Group is looking for a Director to join our Chicago office. You will be reporting to the Vice-President. In this position, you will be responsible for managing and providing leadership within the Business Unit. Working in partnership with the Business Unit, implement strategies and goals (market, financial and HR). Oversee and provide a variety of property assessment and tax consulting services to new and existing clients primarily on larger more complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a full range of property assessment and tax consulting services to new and existing clients with no review

• Actively seeks ways to apply knowledge, interpret and anticipate changes in laws, regulations and standards to provide advice to clients on the impact and implications

• Participate in the establishment of the annual budget process and strategic planning

• Develop strategies to build strong business relationships and play a key role in client presentations

• Work with Senior Management to develop and implement the marketing and synergy plans for the assigned offices. Partner with peers across other Business Units to explore opportunities for cross‐selling and up‐selling additional services.

• Implement plans in the local market which increase revenues and profit by building client satisfaction

• Provide leadership, coaching and motivation to the teams which facilitates business growth and service expansion. Communicate business direction to the teams and ensure alignment of individual goals to business goals

• Ensure productivity and efficient use of all direct reports

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role

• CMI designation

• Expert in the field of property tax - real property; Ability to explain/translate technical concepts on property valuation concepts to clients in a way that demonstrates the high degree of technical expertise that Altus brings to our engagements

• Experience with Excel

• Strong technical skills, resourceful, self-learner

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Interested or has working knowledge of the commercial real estate market

• Working knowledge of Real Estate Tax Valuation and Appeal practices
