Role x You:

As a Senior Copywriter you are responsible for taking a client's advertising brief and generating original ideas that grab the attention of the target audience. You are involved in creating campaigns that have an instant, positive impact in order to promote the product or brand being advertised. This may include creating straplines, slogans, body copy, content ideas, jingles and scripts that accompany advertising visuals. Copywriters will work in close partnership with Art Directors and wider creative teams and will have input to the visual elements as well.

In the short term…

You would build a rapport within our internal system, work towards building an understanding of our client’s brand and understand and align with your creative line manager’s expectations with regard to ideas and writing craft.


After 6 months in this role...

You would be conversant with the Virtue ways of working, understand the brand’s we work on in terms of tonality, expectations and client facing cadence and be able to straddle the creative expectations of multiple projects and take and implement feedback from your creative director, in addition to being able to lead meetings and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and review creative briefs that provide strategic insight and creative inspiration

  • Deliver high quality output by creating 360 campaigns with storytelling at the core

  • Ensure content is innovative, on brand and consistent with the Virtue values

  • Work with relevant departments to produce standout and strategically focused concepts and campaigns

  • Ensure creative is executed within agreed strategy, deadlines, and budget

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Take on appropriate projects and own them, start to finish

  • Manage and work independently, under tight deadlines, while juggling multiple projects

  • Participate in client meetings

  • Lead concept presentations

  • Develop creative concepts and campaigns in collaboration with the Creative Leads ensuring high quality, on briefs

  • Attend market research as appropriate

  • Become the creative voice for your accounts

  • Work with account management to grow our business on existing clients

  • Optimize workflow to ensure consistently positive results across projects.

  • Develop good relationships with your clients

  • Demonstrate to clients that you understand their products and marketing challenges and are responsive to the strategic and creative needs

  • Mentor Junior Creatives

  • Represent Virtue on shoots and at social-event with clients.

  • Sharing best practice with Virtue Creative community

You have these

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a copywriter in a creative services/advertising agency

  • A portfolio of projects which demonstrate a high level of expertise

  • Advanced level of knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional, and team environment.

  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills.

  • A self-motivated team player with a positive attitude.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends, tools, and techniques.

  • Good understanding of all social media platforms and new channels.

  • Digesting, and understanding briefs. Translating these into creative ideas.
