Senior Creative - Art Director

Role x You:

A Senior Creative is responsible for coming up with bespoke creative ideas for Global clients. They understand the collaborative process and how teams make great creative, not individuals. They fully grasp the marriage of brands, businesses, and creative solutions. They can navigate creativity through the full agency process to a successful conclusion with the client. As well as delivering business solutions they are their to inspire the client at every opportunity. Working closely together with strategists, designers, project and account managers they solve the more complex briefs and make work that drives creative excellence. A Senior Creative pushes innovation beyond the brief and is responsible for setting a president of game changing work and original approaches. They are responsible for setting a good president of work and working culture for those below them to look to.

In the short term...

You would build a rapport within our internal system, work towards building an understanding of our client’s brand and understand and align with your creative line manager’s expectations with regard to ideas and design craft.

After 6 months in this role…

You would be conversant with the Virtue ways of working, understand the brand’s we work on in terms of tonality, expectations and client facing cadence and be able to straddle the creative expectations of multiple projects and take and implement feedback from your creative director, in addition to being able to lead meetings and projects to represent the design side of things.


  • Think conceptually and solve business problems presented by the client

  • Understand the importance of the “big idea” and how well the work reflects it within the framework of the clients’ brand

  • Understand the marketing objectives and demonstrate an ability to deliver the “message” through design

  • Create and conceptualize multiple concepts for new assignments

  • Ability to execute ideas flawlessly--paying particular attention to design, layout and typography.

  • Contribute to the communication, demonstration and evolution of the creative product to clients at the highest possible standard

  • Interact with the client services team to gain a total understanding of the client’s business strategy and the market in which it is competing

  • Provide formal feedback for performance evaluations of team members at the close of a project

  • Ability to guide and mentor junior creative talent

  • Partner with Client Services to sell creative ideas to clients

You have these:

  • Proven track record working as an Art Director

  • Experience of working within a global advertising agency

  • English language skills with additional languages an advantage

  • A great eye and an even better communicator

  • For interactive art direction, demonstrate a high level of competence in Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop and Sound Design.

  • Demonstrated leadership in concept development

  • Proven ability to develop client relationships in order to push the client in accepting the correct creative answer to their business problem, not the safe answer.

  • Proven ability to manage and organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Habitually on top of inspiring, cutting-edge trends and developments

  • Successful experience working with and selling to clients

  • Ability to direct creative teams, photographers and other 3rd party creative groups

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other departments
