We are seeking a Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionist (ACVN) to join our team as our in-house expert in companion animal nutrition. This role will bridge clinical expertise and product innovation, ensuring our recipes, research, and educational content meet the highest standards of veterinary nutrition science.
The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing fresh food in veterinary practice, thrives in cross-functional collaboration, and is comfortable working in both scientific and consumer-facing contexts.
This is a U.S.-based remote position and reports to the Staff Veterinarian
What You'll Do:
- Provide veterinary nutrition expertise for recipe formulation, product development, and nutrient optimization.
- Review and interpret current research to inform product innovation and nutritional claims.
- Design and oversee or advise on clinical studies and feeding trials to evaluate the nutritional, health, and wellness impacts of Ollie diets, including clinical trials and field studies.
- Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and veterinary engagement teams to translate findings into evidence-based education and outreach.
- Serve as a trusted veterinary voice for professional education, including webinars, CE programs, and conference presentations.
- Support veterinary engagement strategies through credible, evidence-based communication.
- Develop and review educational content for veterinarians and pet owners.
- Ensure all products meet or exceed AAFCO, NRC, and relevant global nutrient guidelines.
- Review labeling, marketing claims, and educational materials for scientific accuracy.
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams.
- Advise on customer nutrition inquiries, complex cases, and product recommendations.
Who You Are:
- You have a DVM/VMD degree and Board Certification in Veterinary Nutrition (ACVN).
- You have 1-3 years of clinical or industry experience post-certification. Industry experience is an advantage but not a requirement, and we encourage applications from all qualified candidates.
- You have a deep understanding of canine nutrition, nutrient requirements, and diet formulation.
- You have strong communication skills: ability to explain complex concepts to both professional and consumer audiences.
- You have experience in research design, publication, and data interpretation preferred.
- You are detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- You exhibit Intellectual curiosity, innovation and initiative.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-led late stage startup organization.
- You possess strong problem-solving skills and have experience working cross-functionally to drive results.
