Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Logistics JIT/JIS Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing Just-In-Time (JIT) and Just-In-Sequence (JIS) logistics processes within an automotive manufacturing environment.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless material flow from suppliers through to final assembly, supporting efficient production operations through cross-functional collaboration, process improvement, and supplier integration.

Key Responsibilities

JIT/JIS Process Development

  • Plan and develop JIT and JIS processes, systems, and equipment
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of modules from suppliers to the point of assembly

Material Flow Management

  • Manage and optimize end-to-end material flow processes from supplier facilities to production lines
  • Oversee both manual and automated logistics operations

Supplier Collaboration

  • Work directly with automotive suppliers to manage JIT/JIS deliveries
  • Resolve delivery, quality, and supply chain issues to maintain production continuity

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across logistics, production, planning, and supplier management
  • Ensure alignment across departments for end-to-end supply chain execution

Process Integration & Planning

  • Align logistics strategies with product and production planning
  • Support integration of automated unloading and material handling systems

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive initiatives to reduce lead times and improve efficiency
  • Enhance supplier performance and logistics processes

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or JIT/JIS process management within the automotive industry
  • Experience working with automotive suppliers and managing JIT/JIS delivery processes
  • Strong knowledge of VDA, ISO, and other automotive industry standards
  • Experience conducting process audits
  • Strong understanding of Change Management principles in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with logistics and material flow systems (e.g., TMS, WMS, route optimization tools)
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements
