Role Objective

We are looking for a Procurement/Sourcing Specialist who can operate as a technical expert in the supply chain. You will be responsible for translating engineered drawings and Project Bills of Materials (BOMs) into actionable procurement strategies. This is a high-autonomy role requiring deep experience in the oil field, power distribution, and heavy industrial sectors. You must be able to negotiate high-stakes Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs) and pivot instantly as project priorities shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Sourcing: Analyze engineered drawings, spec sheets, and one-lines to accurately source materials for complex electrical projects. Background that's heavy in industrial electric a must.
  • Strategic Buying: Execute a mix of Direct Buys, Contract Buys, and the establishment of long-term Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs).
  • BOM Management: Take full ownership of the Project Bill of Materials, ensuring all components—from bulk commodities to long-lead specialized gear—are secured.
  • High-Stakes Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to protect project margins and ensure timeline compliance.
  • Rapid Response: Manage procurement for multiple simultaneous projects; must be able to pivot focus immediately to address emergencies or sudden site requirements without losing momentum.
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain and leverage a network of suppliers capable of servicing the oil & gas, and power distribution industries.
  • Aggressive Expediting: Proactively track orders and maintain constant communication with vendors. Expediting is a core requirement—you must ensure lead times are met and take immediate corrective action when delivery schedules slip.
  • Logistics Oversight (Bonus Skill): Apply knowledge of supply chain and logistics to optimize the movement of parts to various sites, including remote industrial locations and utilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 5+ years of dedicated Procurement experience specifically within electrical contracting for industrial/commercial sectors (Oil Field, Power Line, Waste Water, or Power Distribution).
  • Technical Literacy: You must be able to read and interpret:
    • Engineered Drawings
    • Technical Spec Sheets
    • One-Line Diagrams
  • Contractual Expertise: Proven track record in negotiating SPAs and complex supply contracts.
  • Operational Style: Self-motivated and capable of operating with minimal direction. You are expected to "own" your desk and drive results independently.
  • Adaptability: A proven ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment where project priorities change without notice.
