Job Overview
We're looking for a full-time, on-site Construction Managers to support VA construction oversight at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in Bay Pines, FL. The two CMs operate in alternating shifts to ensure one CM is present on site 100% of the time the General Contractor is working throughout the 600-calendar-day performance period.
Responsibilities include performing daily field inspections of construction work in progress; documenting contractor activities, defects, and omissions; maintaining and updating as-built drawings; managing the submittal register and tracking RFIs; monitoring construction schedules and long lead items; verifying ICRA compliance in active clinical areas; supporting testing and commissioning activities; coordinating with VA facility staff on access, safety, and infection control; and submitting daily inspection reports to the COR every Friday. CMs escalate issues to the PM immediately and maintain thorough field records supporting all project oversight activities.
Minimum Qualifications
4-year degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, or Construction Management plus 3 years of relevant CM experience, OR 6 years of relevant CM experience without a degree. OSHA 30-hour certification required (within last 5 years). Advanced knowledge of construction practices, materials, and methods required. Experience with healthcare facility construction (VA preferred), active hospital infection control, project phasing, and commissioning support strongly preferred. Florida construction experience preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a VA PIV card.
