Position Overview

The SpeakEasy Bartender is simultaneously a craftsperson, a host, and a brand ambassador - and the sole operator of the SpeakEasy during daytime hours. This role demands mastery of beverage technique alongside the hospitality instincts to create an atmosphere - knowing when a tenant wants a recommendation, a conversation, or simply the quiet pleasure of a perfect drink prepared with intention. During daytime operation, there are no barbacks or kitchen staff on duty. You own the environment entirely: set up, service, and shutdown. The ability to run a full bar operation independently is a baseline expectation.

You will maintain and contribute to the SpeakEasy's menu, fully own the bar environment's presentation and operational integrity across both daytime and evening service, and deliver a personalized, memorable experience that reflects Rivani's Class X standard in every interaction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Craft Beverage Service: Prepare and present an elevated menu of classic and signature cocktails with precision, creativity, and exceptional presentation. Execute every drink to the highest standards of taste, technique, and visual finish. There is no acceptable version of 'close enough' at Rivani's SpeakEasy.
  • Menu Knowledge & Guidance: Maintain deep, current knowledge of spirits, wine, craft beer, and non-alcoholic offerings. Guide tenants through the menu with confidence, personality, and genuine expertise - not a rehearsed pitch.
  • Menu Development: Develop and propose new signature cocktails and seasonal menu additions in close collaboration with the Concierge Manager. Bring creativity, market awareness, and craft knowledge to every menu conversation.
  • Member Engagement & Atmosphere: Serve as the primary host of the SpeakEasy's VIP environment. Build genuine relationships with VIPs, learn their preferences, and deliver personalized service that makes each visit feel tailored. Read the room - adapt your style and energy to what the space and its guests need in that moment.
  • Authentic Hospitality: Engage with VIPs and guests through genuine, warm, and unhurried hospitality. Every interaction should feel like a conversation, not a transaction. Scripted service has no place behind this bar.
  • Bar Operations & Presentation: Maintain a perfectly organized, impeccably clean bar environment always. The SpeakEasy's physical presentation must be as elevated as its service - from the back bar arrangement to the glassware to the surface of the bar top.
  • Independent Daytime Operation: Own and operate the SpeakEasy in full during daytime service hours. There are no barbacks or kitchen staff on duty - you are responsible for every aspect of the operation, from opening setup to service execution to product management.
  • Inventory & Cost Management: Manage bar inventory, par levels, and product ordering with accuracy and cost-consciousness. Minimize waste, track variances, and communicate supply needs to the Concierge Manager in advance.
  • Responsible Service & Compliance: Ensure responsible alcohol service in strict compliance with Florida beverage law and Rivani's internal service standards. Florida Responsible Vendor certification required prior to start.
  • Event & Programming Support: Coordinate with the Concierge Manager and events team to support private member functions, curated programming, and special activations held in or adjacent to the SpeakEasy. Execute setup and breakdown with the care and precision the environment demands.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of bartending experience in a premium cocktail bar, luxury hotel lounge, fine dining establishment, or private members' club - not high-volume service environments
  • Mastery of classic and contemporary cocktail technique, spirit categories, flavor theory, and current beverage trends
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to beverage menu development, including seasonal and signature cocktail creation
  • Florida Responsible Vendor certification required; must be obtained prior to start date if not currently held
  • Natural gift for hospitality: genuine warmth, confident presence, and the ability to make tenants and guests feel at home from the first moment
  • Strong inventory management discipline and operational attention to detail
  • Current or prior bar management experience strongly preferred; demonstrated ability to operate and make sound decisions independently, without on-site support staff
  • Polished professional presentation consistent with an ultra-luxury environment in both appearance and manner--
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred given Rivani's resident community

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout a full shift
  • Ability to lift and carry cases of beverages, glassware, and bar equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, on-your-feet environment with sustained attention to detail throughout
