Position Summary
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff. Assign tasks, monitor daily performance, and provide real-time coaching and feedback. Build a team culture where high standards are understood, expected, and consistently met.
- Cleanliness & Presentation Standards: Own the cleanliness standard for all Rivani's common areas, amenity spaces, back-of-house corridors, lobbies, fitness facilities, and any applicable tenant areas. Establish cleaning protocols for each space and ensure adherence without exception.
- Scheduling & Coverage: Develop and manage daily, weekly, and event-based cleaning schedules to always ensure complete coverage. Coordinate with the front desk, maintenance, and events teams to anticipate and respond to building activity.
- Inventory & Procurement: Manage the full inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, equipment, and linens. Maintain appropriate stock levels, ensure proper storage and SDS compliance, and support cost-effective procurement aligned with budget parameters.
- Quality Control & Inspections: Conduct regular, documented inspections of all cleaned areas. Identify deficiencies and address them immediately. Implement corrective protocols and track improvement over time. Maintain inspection records as part of Rivani's quality management documentation.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all housekeeping equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained. Coordinate repairs, servicing, and replacements as needed to keep operations running without interruption.
- Tenant & Guest Relations: Address tenant concerns and housekeeping requests with professionalism, urgency, and a genuine commitment to resolution. Every interaction is a service moment - own it accordingly.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all housekeeping operations comply with OSHA standards, chemical safety regulations, and Rivani's building policies. Conduct regular safety training and maintain a zero-incident safety culture.
- Vendor Coordination: If external cleaning contractors are engaged, supervise their work, hold them to Rivani's standards, and ensure contract deliverables are consistently met.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, inspections, inventory levels, supply orders, and staff performance. Prepare and submit reports as required by the Assistant General Manager or General Manager.
- Budget Support: Assist in managing the housekeeping operating budget, tracking supply expenditures and identifying efficiency opportunities without compromising cleaning standards.
- 7-10 years of housekeeping experience, including at least 3-5 years in a lead, supervisory, or shift leader capacity in a 5-star luxury hotel or resort
- Deep knowledge of professional cleaning techniques, chemical handling, equipment operation, and sanitation protocols
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold accountable a team of frontline housekeeping staff
- Strong eye for detail - you notice what others miss and act on it immediately
- Proficiency in scheduling and inventory management tools; comfort with digital reporting platforms
- Bilingual English/Spanish required - this role requires full fluency in English and Spanish to lead a frontline team effectively
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and event days as Rivani's operational schedule demands
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, SDS procedures, and applicable health and safety regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field strongly preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout a full shift in an active building environment
- Ability to lift, carry, and manage cleaning equipment, supplies, and materials up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to handle and properly manage cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with SDS protocols
- Comfort working across diverse building environments including pool deck, fitness facilities, and back-of-house spaces
