Role Summary

The Production Supervisor leads daily laser and photonics assembly operations in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for meeting quality, cost, delivery, and safety objectives while driving productivity and continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. This position manages workforce execution, scheduling, training, and operational discipline to support regulated customers across aerospace, defense, life sciences, and industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities to meet quality, delivery, cost, and safety requirements.
  • Execute production schedules and communicate priorities, risks, and status to operations leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 6S, Lean, and safety audits.
  • Identify and resolve equipment, process, and safety issues, escalating as needed.
  • Manage employee time, attendance, and performance evaluations.
  • Allocate and adjust resources based on capacity and production demands.
  • Develop and maintain training, mentoring, and qualification plans aligned with QMS requirements.
  • Process ERP and production system entries to ensure accurate job flow.
  • Initiate Engineering Change Requests to correct documentation or process issues.
  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and organized production environment.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering with production documentation and process execution.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in microelectronics or photonics manufacturing.
  • Prior leadership experience in a cleanroom, photonics assembly environment.
  • Degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong people leadership, performance management, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience applying Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
