Position Summary

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in writing user stories using Jira or Azure DevOps applications, with strong written and verbal communication skills. A solid foundation in both manual and automated testing of SaaS-based applications is essential. This role is responsible for managing multiple product initiatives, working closely with cross-

functional teams, and developing and executing comprehensive QA strategies to maintain the quality and reliability of the company's software products. The candidate must also have working knowledge of all Execupay service bureau and client- facing products.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Execute manual and functional testing of SaaS-based applications to ensure product quality.
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using defect tracking tools.
  • Collaborate with development and product management teams to understand requirements and provide feedback on design and implementation.
  • Assist with reviewing and validating bug and enhancement request submissions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive QA strategies, processes, and standards.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure that new features and bug fixes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Participate in test case reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve test coverage and effectiveness.
  • Communicate test results and findings clearly and effectively to team members and stakeholders.
  • Support the continuous improvement of QA processes and practices within the team.
  • Utilize Jira or Azure DevOps to write user stories and track testing activities.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and QA processes.
  • Maintain release notes of test cases.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in QA and testing.

Marginal Functions

  • Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting clients.
  • Attend webinars and/or trainings to stay up to date on best practices related to the company and department.
  • Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies, including manual and functional testing, regression testing, defect lifecycle management, and QA best practices within the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience testing SaaS-based applications, including validating user workflows, requirements, and business rules.
  • Ability to analyze product requirements and user stories and translate them into effective test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Proficiency in Jira or Azure DevOps for writing user stories, managing test activities, and tracking defects through resolution.
  • Skill in identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and verifying software defects, including clear reproduction steps and test evidence.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development, product management, and cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide quality-focused feedback.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate test results, risks, and quality concerns to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple testing initiatives simultaneously, prioritize work based on risk and impact, and meet release timelines.
  • Experience maintaining accurate QA documentation, including test cases, test results, QA processes, and release notes.
  • Ability to participate in and contribute to test case reviews to improve test coverage and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement of QA processes and standards.
  • Ability to learn and maintain working knowledge of company products to ensure accurate, business-focused testing.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

  • BS/BA in related fields such as Computer Science, Communications, English, or Technical Writing or equivalent combination of experience, skills, education (including other relevant non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs) preferred.
  • A minimum of four years of experience as a Technical Writer for complex software systems, preferably in a SaaS or web-based environment.
  • A minimum of two years of experience with Execupay systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.

Environmental Conditions

This position is performed in a professional office environment and requires regular use of computers and standard office equipment. The work setting is climate-controlled with typical office lighting and low to moderate noise levels. The role involves extended periods of screen time, in-person collaboration and meetings, and minimal exposure to physical hazards.
