Position Summary

The Supply Chain & Inventory Manager owns the strategy and execution of sourcing, purchasing, and inventory optimization for High to Low Voltage (H2LV). This role ensures the right equipment is available at the right time and at the right cost to enable sales growth, rental utilization, and operational execution while protecting cash flow and margin performance.

This leader drives disciplined decision-making around what to buy, when to buy it, and how much to carry, balancing demand variability, lead times, working capital, and service levels. They proactively assess financial impact, manage vendor performance, and establish scalable inventory processes that support H2LV's growth.

Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, operational judgment, and a high degree of ownership . Experience with transformers, switchgear, and related electrical equipment is strongly preferred, though candidates with transferable experience in industrial or capital equipment environments will also be considered. The ideal candidate operates with initiative, anticipates needs, and drives results with minimal direction in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing & Procurement
  • Own what to purchase, when to purchase, and from whom, aligned to sales demand, rentals, service and project timelines
  • Execute all purchasing activities for transformers, switchgear, and related equipment
  • Evaluate vendor pricing, lead times, reliability, and capacity
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight, and warranties
  • Ensure purchase decisions align with margin targets and working capital goals
  • Inventory Management & Optimization
  • Own inventory strategy across stocked, rental, and project-based equipment
  • Establish and manage min/max levels, reorder points, and safety stock
  • Monitor stock availability and proactively address shortages or excess
  • Balance inventory turns and revenue readiness
  • Partner with Operations and Sales to align inventory to forecasted demand
  • Financial & Cash Flow Impact
  • Assess and communicate financial impact of purchasing decisions
  • Optimize inventory investment to support DSO, cash flow, and margin performance
  • Track inventory aging and recommend actions to mitigate slow-moving or excess stock
  • Support budgeting and forecasting related to inventory and procurement
  • Vendor Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, remanufacturers, and suppliers
  • Track vendor performance (lead times, quality, responsiveness, pricing discipline)
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for vendor communication and escalation
  • Identify and qualify new vendors to support growth and risk mitigation
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Sales, Project Management, Operations, and Accounting
  • Provide visibility into inventory availability and procurement timelines
  • Support sales pursuits by validating availability, lead times, and sourcing options
  • Enable faster, more informed quoting and deal execution
  • Systems, Process & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data in company systems
  • Improve procurement and inventory processes as the company scales
  • Establish clear purchasing discipline, documentation, and controls
  • Contribute to standard operating procedures and playbooks

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management
  • Experience with inventory management software (experience in Cin7 is a plus)
  • Experience managing inventory in a capital equipment or industrial environment
  • Understanding of financial concepts related to inventory, margin, and cash flow
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and prioritize in a fast-moving environment
  • Analytical and financially minded
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically
  • Proactive, decisive, and accountable
  • Comfortable operating in a growing, entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of transformers, switchgear, and electrical equipment
  • Experience in surplus purchasing
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Private Equity environment
