We are seeking a General Foreperson to help us become North America's top telecommunications provider.
Reporting to the Superintendent or Construction Manager, the Foreperson ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, safely, and to the highest standards of quality and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Superintendent in overall project planning and scheduling for timely, costeffective delivery.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee Administration, Engineering, and Construction functions.
- Represent Aecon with project owners and stakeholders.
- Advise Superintendent on extra work and claims before initiation.
- Implement and monitor Aecon's Safety, Environment, and Quality Control policies.
- Facilitate a safe work culture; ensure crew compliance with safety standards and fitness for duty.
- Ensure adherence to local legislative requirements.
- Direct and maintain discipline, morale, and productivity of project staff.
- Orient new crew members and assess competency of tradespersons.
- Assign tasks, communicate expectations, and identify training needs.
- Promote teamwork and harmony across all construction crews.
- Maintain daily notes, diaries, and project documentation.
- Interpret and markup construction drawings as required.
- Perform physical duties including walking, lifting, equipment operation, climbing, and working in inclement weather.
- Technical school background or minimum 5 years of construction experience.
- Experience in Pipeline Distribution or Telecommunications work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
