Position Summary

The Electrical Sourcing Specialist is responsible for researching electrical products and components, negotiating pricing, establishing Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs), managing supplier contracts, obtaining competitive quotes, confirming supplier lead-times, and ensuring product availability to satisfy customer and project requirements.

This role specializes in industrial electrical, oil & gas, automation, power distribution, and control system components. The Electrical Sourcing Specialist collaborates closely with Inside Sales, Sales, Project Managers, Electrical Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing.

This position reports to the Purchasing Manager with oversight from the Supply Chain Manager. This role requires strong technical aptitude in electrical products, demonstrated negotiation expertise, and proven experience managing supplier pricing structures and agreements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal and vertical band saws to cut structural steel per shop drawings and work orders
• Measure, mark, and verify material dimensions using tape measures, squares, and layout tools
• Interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and fabrication details
• Set up and adjust saw equipment for proper blade speed, feed rate, and material type
• Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
• Maintain proper blade selection and replace blades as needed
• Deburr and finish cut materials as required
• Safely operate forklifts, cranes, or material handling equipment (if certified)
• Maintain organized material staging and inventory control
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
• Follow all OSHA and company safety standards
  
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical components and automation systems
• Proven experience negotiating pricing agreements and supplier contracts
• Demonstrated experience establishing and managing Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs)
• Strong analytical and cost-comparison skills
• Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications and drawings
• Strong organizational skills, prioritization, and time management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
• Hands-on knowledge of ERP/accounting software (e.g., Prophet 21, SAP, Epicor)
• Ability to work within an office and/or warehouse environment with various temperature ranges throughout the year
• Ability to speak and hear clearly in English while communicating professionally with suppliers, associates, and management
• Ability to utilize hands/legs/body to operate a computer, utilize general warehouse equipment such as warehouse stairs, and carry/move product/boxes throughout all areas of the facility
• Ability to work for prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to Ability to lift 50 pounds
  
  

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• 46 years of experience in electrical sourcing, electrical distribution, or industrial procurement
• Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier pricing, SPAs, and contracts
• 3+ years sourcing industrial electrical or automation components
• Experience in oil & gas upstream/midstream environments
• Experience in manufacturing or distribution
• Hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21
