Guideline is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join a new initiative focused on integrating generative technologies in order to extend the capabilities of our platform and improve the effectiveness of our teams. You’ll be partnering with leaders across the organization to identify opportunities, develop proof of concepts, deliver production ready offerings, and build a generative tech capability.

The Team
We’re establishing a new Gen Tech role that will work at the intersection of technology and business. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront as Guideline develops a generative technology capability. You’ll help us establish our roadmap, execute on a direction, build our platform, and identify high value opportunities for investment. This is a Staff+ level engineering role with a high majority of time spent directly engineering solutions.

What You Will Work On (aka What will you be doing?)

  • Research and integrate generative technologies (and adjacent technologies) into our existing platform and organizational workflows
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to add value through generative tech, bridging the gap between business needs and technological capabilities
  • Evaluate build vs buy scenarios and execute based on the chosen path

What We’re Looking For (aka Requirements)

  • You’re excited about generative tech, LLMs, adjacent technologies, and partnering with Data Science teams
  • Bonus points if you have production experience integrating with LLMs, prompt engineering, or developing RAG based solutions
  • You’re experienced working with other leaders to plan and develop platform architectures and establish technology directions
  • You have a tenacious focus on the value being delivered
  • 8+ years of experience building software products
  • Expertise in at least one backend language with at least a working knowledge of Python, Ruby, or Javascript
  • Working knowledge of React is a plus
  • Well versed in operating one or more modern databases, designing scalable APIs, and developing effective and manageable integrations with 3rd party offerings
  • Familiarity with building and scaling a distributed systems environment built with Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP
