Creative Operations Manager (Contract)

The Brand Studio team, NerdWallet's internal creative agency, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Creative Operations Manager. This position is critical for managing the smooth flow of creative initiatives throughout the organization. To keep new work on track, you will assess work requests, manage schedules, assist with resource allocation, and maintain communication between project requestors, Brand Studio management and working teams to get projects kicked off efficiently and effectively. Where you can make an impact:

  • Collaborate with Marketing and other departments to ensure that projects are correctly submitted and briefed to the Creative team.
  • Maintain and manage project management tools and processes to improve communication and efficiency.
  • Identify, communicate and support the mitigation of project risks to ensure that quality and timelines are met.
  • Oversee the management of creative assets, ensuring proper accessibility from our internal and external partners.
  • Monitor department workloads and support Brand Studio leaders in allocating teams (Copywriters, Art Directors, Producers, Editors) to maximize team productivity.
  • Assess and communicate staffing needs and manage external resources as required.
  • Track resource utilization and project progress, ensuring accurate and insightful data is available for strategic decision-making.
  • Create and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.
  • Organize departmental status meetings and provide regular reports to department leads.
  • Assist the Sr. Managing Director with budget management, documentation, and tracking.
  • Establish and maintain processes to ensure smooth internal operations and encourage collaboration with other teams.

Your experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management or creative operations, preferably in a creative or internal agency.
  • Strong understanding of creative production processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in evaluating work requests and creative briefs, pinpointing gaps, and implementing effective strategies to gather necessary information prior to project kick off.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Wrike, Asana, Trello, and remote working tools (e.g., Google Suite, Zoom, Slack).


  • This role will be based in San Francisco, CA or remote (based in the U.S.).

Pay Transparency & Contract Details:

  • The hourly rate for this position is $60-$75/hour
  • This is a W2 contract role hired by Magnit
  • The estimated schedule for this engagement would be 40 hours per week for approximately 6 months
