Description

About the Role

We’re hiring a results-oriented, scrappy, and operationally-minded Controller who thrives in complex, high-volume environments. You’ll own the accounting function across our multi-brand, multi-entity business, spanning eCommerce, dropship, retail, and manufacturing, and bring discipline, structure, and accountability to every corner of the finance function. This role is for someone who lives in the weeds of the general ledger, owns cash controls, and isn’t afraid to be the loudest and clearest voice in the room when it comes to financial integrity. The role will be especially valuable in surfacing granular insights and tying them directly to our broader objectives and emerging trends.

This is not a passive oversight role. We are looking for someone who will build, challenge, and take full ownership.

What You’ll Own

  • Full-stack accounting operations across a multi-entity business with inventory, dropship, and hybrid fulfillment models
  • End-to-end monthly close process, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy
  • GL consolidation across systems and sources with SKU-level complexity and ERP integration
  • Cash management and forecasting: Own daily cash controls, disbursements, and reconciliations
  • Audit preparation and process management: Coordinate annual audit, lead GAAP compliance, and partner with external advisors and auditors
  • Budget vs. actuals and forecasting, partnering with FP&A and business leaders to drive accountability
Process creation and control implementation across AR/AP, payroll accounting, and inventory
  • ERP stewardship: Be the go-to for NetSuite and Bill.com, with oversight of system integrity and optimization

What You Bring

Must-haves (Non-Negotiable):

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
  • Manufacturing + eCommerce + Retail experience. You understand the complexity of mixed business models (not just one or the other)
  • Deep GL and multi-entity consolidation expertise, ideally in a SKU-heavy, inventory-based environment
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • SAP or Oracle
    • NetSuite
    • Bill.com
  • Experience with dropship and direct fulfillment business models
  • Highly skilled in implementing and scaling accounting processes and controls
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, audits, and internal controls
  • Relentlessly detail-oriented and unafraid to call things out: early, clearly, and often

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with ERP migration or implementation
  • Prior work in a private equity-backed or high-growth business
  • CPA or equivalent preferred

You’ll Succeed in This Role If You Are:

  • A builder: You don’t just operate the machine, you build and improve it.
  • A synthesizer: You can take data from multiple sources, systems, and workflows and distill them into a clear picture.
  • A truth-teller: You speak up, ask hard questions, and make it your job to create clarity and accountability.
  • A sociopath (in the best way): You don’t flinch under pressure, push for precision, and hold people, and yourself, to a high bar.

COMPENSATION

This is an exempt role.

The target pay range for this role is between $165,000 -$195,000.

This role is eligible for a bonus.
