ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Head of Social Media to oversee all social media activity across Schoolhouse, Food52 and Dansk - including our content, our shop and our partnerships. This role will drive the vision, strategy, execute and optimization of our social efforts across all social platforms - most notably: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Substack and beyond. This leader will be responsible for developing innovative and compelling content, growing our audience, and driving meaningful engagement across platforms. You will work closely with our content, marketing, and commerce teams to ensure our social strategy aligns with overarching business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a cohesive, data-driven social media strategy aligned with Food52’s audience and revenue goals.
  • Build a unified vision across platforms to ensure brand consistency while catering to unique audience needs and optimizing content for each.
  • Stay ahead of social media trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to innovate and keep the brand at the forefront of the industry and top-of-mind for the community.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling, shareable content, including video, photography, graphics, and copy, tailored to each social platform (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
  • Work closely with creative, editorial, and production teams to develop campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences and amplify brand storytelling.
  • Manage the editorial calendar for all social platforms to ensure a steady cadence of high-quality content and alignment with site programming.
  • Oversee strategies to amplify user-generated content, influencers, and collaborations.
  • Partner with the customer experience team to address and manage any social escalations with professionalism and brand integrity.

Performance & Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing social media team, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Set KPIs for social media performance, including engagement, growth, and conversion metrics, and consistently analyze and report on performance.
  • Leverage analytics tools to glean insights, refine strategy, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Partner with paid media teams to optimize paid social strategies and budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of social media experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the lifestyle, food, or home sectors.
  • Proven track record of scaling social media followings and driving engagement across multiple platforms.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, analytics tools (e.g., Dash Hudson, Google Analytics), and emerging trends.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams.
  • Strong creative vision with the ability to translate brand identity into engaging social media content.
  • Experience in influencer partnerships and user-generated content strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate cross-functional relationships.
  • Passion for food, design, and fostering meaningful connections through digital storytelling.

COMPENSATION

For residents of CT, NJ or NY the compensation for this role is 130k - 150k. Factors used to determine the salary range for a given position may impact what salary within the stated range may be offered to any particular candidate (e.g., years of experience, level of education obtained, etc.).

This is an exempt role.

The target pay range for this role is between 130k - 150k.

This role is eligible for a 20% bonus.
