Position Background:

Everytable is looking for a Commissary Kitchen Lead.

We’re looking for a person to lead our kitchen team, which produces our fresh meals daily, that are sold in our stores, SmartFridges, and subscription businesses. This person will play a critical role in the daily operations of our business, and will lead an important team in a fast-moving, exciting, and high-pressure environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the food industry, and will have significant experience leading and managing teams in the assembly or plating of meals. They will be obsessed with efficiency and operations, and have an eye for quality and detail.

Continuous Preparation & Organization (40%):
  • Prepare daily organizational and performance plan for team including roles and responsibilities for each person and clear timeline for each function and task.
  • Lead team in maintaining an organized work area that is creates a safe and productive work environment.
  • Organize process flow to ensure maximum throughput and efficiency.
  • Consistently work to improve efficiency and throughput, and meet or beat goals.
  • Balance team members, including material and people preparation, so they are ready to begin processes at the right time.
  • Utilize team members to confirm the all items going into assembly include all necessary materials to complete production without creating a shortage.’
  • Planning of breaks and lunches to coincide with natural stopping points between production runs.
Team Management & Recruitment (30%):
  • Hold weekly 1-1s with each team member, setting goals and expectations, and hearing team member suggestions for improvements.
  • Host daily huddles with team, setting hourly and daily goals while delegating tasks.
  • Utilizing team feedback to help in implementing improvements.
  • Reviewing individual performance throughout the day and being hands-on when training and setting performance expectations.
  • Optimizing group performance through continual feedback and suggestions and support throughout daily shifts.
  • Ensuring all team members are set up for success throughout the entire shift, ensuring all team members have necessary supplies and equipment at all times, and no one runs out of necessary tools or materials.
  • Constantly interviewing candidates to hire and build bench of interested team-members, including hosting observers who are potential future hires.
  • Set team goals and motivate the team to hit performance targets.
  • Hold team accountable to world-class standards of performance, organization, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Manage team to timeline set in daily organizational and performance plan.
  • Set up and execute assembly lines for each Everytable SKU until all SKUs are successfully and completely packaged to the exact required amount while meeting strict quality requirements.
  • Management of intermediate cleaning process between production items to assure food safety requirements are being met.
  • Examine and inspect all raw materials and finished goods, to ensure standards are being met.
  • Ability to identify and train team about major allergens and use proper techniques to avoid cross contamination.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation standards of Everytable to both State and Federal regulations.
Process & Efficiency Optimization (15%):
  • Continually assess current processes, looking to reduce waste and drive improved labor efficiencies through new manufacturing methods, or tools.
  • Identifying process bottlenecks and then balancing the production line to generate the optimal production speed with a given team size.
  • Brainstorming and testing of new manufacturing methods utilizing lean techniques to reduce waste.
Production Records & Administrative Tasks (15%):
  • Serve as key member of the food production team within the daily production meeting. Attending daily production meeting to communicate team performance and daily challenges, while also receiving information for dissemination to your team.
  • Keep records and perform continual quality control checks pertaining to production timings, labels, date codes, production counts, and product weight.
  • Daily review of all paperwork and calculation of performance metrics.
  • Other tasks as requested by Kitchen management.

What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a high volume production kitchen or a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience with continuous motion assembly conveyors.
  • Basic computer skills; email, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with fellow team members and management.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and loud environment.
  • Ability to work different shifts, that include holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must be able to stand for a period of 8 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to work in refrigerated conditions for extended periods of time(40* degrees Fahrenheit)
  • Regular kneeling, bending, and stooping required.
  • Safely lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be willing to obtain a Food Handler card.
