Position Summary
The Specialist, Recruiting is primarily responsible for the non-exempt recruiting process (fulfillment center bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit hourly positions) including creating job descriptions, preparing job postings (internal and external), reviewing applications, conducting phone and face-to-face interviews, administering skill based and behavioral assessments, performing reference/background checks, processing new hires and facilitating orientation.
He/she will develop, implement and/or maintain employment and other recruiting and sourcing programs. In addition, he/she will be accountable for tracking key recruiting metrics and developing strategies that reduce turnover.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate interviews for team of recruiters
- Greet & welcome candidates upon arrival to interviews/meetings
- Assist with recruitment efforts for entry level positions across the organization
- Attend university career fairs/ events
- Work with universities to plan onsite visits/tours
- Assist recruiters with sourcing for open and future positions
- Manage LinkedIn Recruiter & ADP recruiting accounts
- Track fulfillment center staffing levels and develop a proactive recruiting strategy.
- Partner with the Operations management team to identify staffing requirements; then, determine skill needs, understand department dynamics and identify possible sources.
- Proactively identify strong candidates through internal associate postings, external online postings, networking and referral sources.
- Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services/organizations, colleges/universities, and internet job sites.
- Assist with all phases of the nonexempt recruiting and hiring process including creating job descriptions, preparing job postings (internal and external), reviewing applications, conducting phone and face-to-face interviews, administering skill based and behavioral assessments, performing reference/background checks, processing new hires and facilitating orientation.
- Responsible for posting open positions both internally and externally following company practices and policies.
- Recruit for Operations management positions (as needed), primarily Team Leads and Supervisors.
- Assist Site HR in planning, coordinating and delivering high-quality HR programs, engagement activities and associate events.
- Special projects as needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-2 years Human Resources/Talent Acquisition experience, retail experience preferred
Required Skills
- Computer proficient: MS Office skills with emphasis in Outlook & excel
- Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of the organization
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills
- Creative, detail oriented and organized team player
