POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is a key member of the accounting team and is responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial data to management. The senior accountant will be responsible for key balance sheet accounts such as cash, accounts receivable, prepaid assets, and accrual accounts. The senior accountant will aid in the monthly closing and financial statement preparation. Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and support the Director of Accounting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete monthly journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations.
• Work with cross functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Preparing variance analyses and related explanations.
• Assist with reporting of sales through third party marketplaces such as Amazon and WalMart.
• Support the tax compliance function by gathering the necessary information and documents needed for sales and use tax returns.
• Assist treasury with monthly cash flow forecasts and borrowing base calculations.
• Support on the identification, project planning, and implementation of process improvements.
• Special projects as needed.
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel required.
• 2+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Prior experience with major financial reporting systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc.
• Must have the ability to create reports from independent data sources accurately and efficiently provide explanations for variances.
