Job Overview (What You’ll Do):
Cotopaxi is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Global Logistics & Transportation to lead and optimize our global and domestic transportation operations. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end logistics, with a strong focus on international freight, U.S. domestic small parcel shipping, and trade compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in supply chain operations and excels at building and managing high-performing partnerships with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics providers.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery across our e-commerce, retail, and wholesale channels. In addition to day-to-day logistics execution and vendor performance management, the Senior Manager will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align logistics strategy with broader business goals.
Job Responsibilities (How You’ll Do It):
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive logistics strategies that support Cotopaxi’s growth objectives, cost efficiency, and service level goals.
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce transportation spend across international and domestic freight lanes.
- Partner with senior leadership on network design, capacity planning, and strategies to manage seasonal and promotional volume fluctuations.
International Logistics Management
- Oversee the movement of goods via ocean, air, and cross-border freight from global manufacturing partners to the West Valley City, UT distribution center.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Cotopaxi’s international freight forwarder, managing performance and ensuring service-level adherence.
- Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, maintaining accurate and timely shipping documentation.
- Direct all aspects of international routing, booking, capacity management, and exception handling.
- Apply advanced logistics expertise in:
- Incoterms negotiation and compliance
- Customs clearance and HTS classification
- Freight cost modeling and landed cost analysis
- Duty mitigation and tariff optimization strategies
- Trade documentation standards and best practices
Domestic Logistics Management
- Manage all outbound U.S. domestic transportation, with a focus on small parcel shipping through DHL, FedEx, USPS, and regional carriers.
- Monitor delivery performance across e-commerce, retail, and wholesale channels to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Lead small parcel rate negotiations and oversee carrier contract management.
- Analyze shipping data to identify and implement cost-saving measures and service-level improvements.
- Coordinate closely with the distribution center team to support daily fulfillment and shipping execution.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team responsible for daily execution of international and domestic operations.
- Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular team reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and support.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and improvement-focused team culture.
Risk Management & Trade Compliance
- Identify potential risks in transportation networks and develop mitigation strategies for both international and domestic freight.
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, including CTPAT and EAR standards.
- Stay informed on global trade policy changes and proactively adapt logistics strategies to ensure continued compliance and cost-effectiveness.
The Ideal Candidate (What You Need to Succeed):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in logistics or transportation, including 3–5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record overseeing both international and domestic logistics operations across multiple channels (e-commerce, retail, wholesale).
- Deep expertise in trade compliance, freight cost optimization, and third-party vendor performance management.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and strategic decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficient in ERP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS), with preferred experience in platforms such as NetSuite and StrategIQ.
- Experience managing distributed teams and coordinating with external logistics partners and service providers.
