The big picture: Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are looking for a SDR Manager to lead our team of SDRs for Axios Pro Policy!

Why it matters: The manager of SDRs will serve an integral role in coaching and developing our top-of-funnel sales team. SDRs are responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities through thoughtful outreach and exceptional service to future clients. This role will report to and partner closely with our SVP, Pro Policy to maximize revenue-generating activities and support sales growth for Axios Pro Policy.

Go deeper: Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations for SDRs including hiring + onboarding, skills development training, and performance management
  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing leadership to create and drive new business opportunities through diverse outreach strategies and lead activation initiatives.
  • Manage all inbound/warm lead routing in CRM and facilitate team-wide activation on leads generated from event and marketing initiatives
  • Build playbook for prospecting and outreach best practices to upskill team
  • Coach team on refining elevator pitch, objection handling, delivering value in outreach, and cold calling.
  • Set weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs to drive success across the team
  • Maintain up-to-date dashboards and report on key business metrics for individuals/team

Details: Ideal candidates should have an entrepreneurial spirit, be highly collaborative, organized + detail-oriented, and have the following skills:

  • Exceptional emotional intelligence with a proven track record of coaching and developing high-potential early-career commercial talent
  • Direct experience managing entry-level or early-career professionals in a sales or commercial environment
  • Ability to understand the formula for driving top-of-funnel activity in order to drive toward revenue goals and milestones
  • Strong track record of building processes, infrastructure, and performance playbooks from the ground up
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A deep belief in and commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive team environment

Starting base salary for this role is in the range of $80,000 - $90,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation and benefits.

Note that the total compensation offered for this role includes a sales incentive component, which is contingent upon the successful achievement of predetermined sales targets.
