General
The Store Leader will drive store performance and deliver retail excellence, from achieving financial targets, to directing all aspects of store operations, to developing a phenomenal in-store flock that provides our customers with amazing in-store experiences. The Store Leader should have a passion for sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong understanding of retail management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure teams are providing customers with engaging and personalized try-on experiences
- Oversee merchandising and ensure the stores are visually appealing to customers
- Analyze business trends and create plans to increase sales, while controlling expenses to help drive overall profitability within your store
- Collaborate with business partners on store operations and problem-solving issues
- Act as subject matter expert in all operational processes and procedures, including, but not limited to:
- opening and closing procedures
- store appearance, cleanliness, and organization
- cash count and control
- ensuring a safe and healthy work environment
- ensuring store compliance with all State and Federal laws and regulations
- Implement brand initiatives to achieve world-class service across stores
- Cultivate an engaging and empowering store culture based on our values and mission
- Recruit, train, and onboard new-hires to build a diverse team with a wide range of experiences, perspectives, and service styles to best serve customers
- Hold team members accountable for fulfilling their role responsibilities, such as following SOPs and adhering to time & attendance and dress code policies
- Manage performance, develop talent, and plan for succession, securing retention of high performers and top talent, especially focusing on managing staff turnover
More Practical Skills Needed:
- High school diploma required; Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred but not required
- 5+ years of retail experience, fashion or footwear is a plus
- 3+ years of management experience in a retail environment
- Experience in a specialty retail environment, fashion or footwear preferred
- Demonstrated success achieving sales and profit results through leading store team
- Exceptional interpersonal skills founded on an authentic ability to deliver strong customer service
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills and the ability to influence business partners at all levels
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to resolve technical, operational and organizational problems and drive decisions that impact finances, efficiency and effectiveness of the stores
- Skilled at building and leveraging relationships with peers, corporate partners and the business community to positively impact business decisions
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to ambiguity and allocate time to execute multiple tasks & changing priorities

Physical Requirements*
- Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time on the sales floor
- Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel and carry products necessary for customer service, inventory stocking, and store merchandising
- Able to regularly perform store maintenance: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean, dust, etc.
- Use of iPads, computers, POS devices
- Able to safely lift boxes up to 30 pounds
- Comfortable climbing ladders
- Depending on location, going up and down stairs

What do we offer?
The Allbirds pay range for the role is: $80,000 - $90,000, depending on location, knowledge, skills and level of experience.
Allbirds routinely evaluates pay rates, and the ranges are subject to change based on market rates and other factors. We factor in a number of components when determining starting pay, including the job and level you are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.
