Based in Dumbo, Brooklyn, our team is scrappy, nimble, and energized by bringing a new category to life. This role is full-time and in-office.

OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Marketing Director to own and scale Aerflo’s full marketing function across DTC, Amazon, and retail. This is a founding marketing leader role, being both strategist and operator — a player-coach who can set the vision and execute the work needed to bring it to life.

You’ll build Aerflo’s marketing engine from the ground up: driving acquisition and retention, shaping the brand, and developing the team. Today, our business is primarily DTC and Amazon; by the end of 2026, retail will represent ~25% of revenue. This leader will play a critical role in accelerating that omnichannel growth.

Reporting directly to our and co-presidents, Buzz Wiggins and John Thorp, you will build and manage a small internal team, our PR agency, and creative freelance partners. You will be hands-on, strategic, analytical, and energized by scaling an early-stage business.

We’re looking for someone who has done this before — owned and scaled marketing at a high-growth consumer startup and can prove how marketing drives measurable business impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Marketing Strategy, Planning, & Budgeting

  • Own annual and quarterly marketing strategy, planning, and budgeting across DTC, Amazon, and retail support
  • Lead new product launch strategy and go-to-market planning for the US market, while laying the groundwork for future international expansion
  • Develop and maintain clear, data-backed forecasts, budget allocation, and performance reporting.
  • Own key growth KPIs (e.g., CAC, LTV, conversion rates, channel ROAS) and partner with Finance on revenue and margin targets.

Drive Efficient Customer Acquisition & Retention

  • Own full-funnel acquisition across paid, organic, and Amazon - from awareness through conversion
  • Improve efficiency across all performance channels through structured testing, creative optimization, and audience development.
  • Lead lifecycle marketing (email, SMS, CRM), and loyalty programs to maximize retention, LTV, and repeat purchase behavior.
  • Build and maintain a rigorous measurement, experimentation, and analytics framework to inform decisions and unlock growth.

Build Brand Awareness & Brand Love

  • Own integrated organic channels (social, content, community), partnerships, and brand storytelling.
  • Guide PR, creator, and affiliate strategy to build cultural relevance and earned reach.
  • Ensure all brand and creative output is aligned, elevated, and consistent across channels and touchpoints.
  • Partner with Product on positioning, packaging, and insights-driven inputs to the product roadmap.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as Aerflo’s founding marketing leader: in the near term, manage and grow a small, high-performing internal marketing team (~ 3-4 marketers) and develop the long-term org plan as the business scales.
  • Oversee agency and freelance partners across creative, PR, and Amazon.
  • Partner closely with the founders on brand direction and major decisions, communicating with clarity and confidence.
  • Collaborate deeply with Product, CX, Operations, Retail/Sales, and Finance to ensure marketing and business priorities stay in lockstep.
  • Help define and optimize Aerflo’s marketing tech stack to enable scalable growth.
THIS SHOULD DESCRIBE YOU
  • You have 10+ years of consumer marketing experience (e.g., consumer hardware, CPG, beverage/food brands, or kitchen/home appliances), including meaningful time at high-growth, early-stage startups.
  • You’ve owned and scaled a full marketing function across DTC and Amazon, know how to drive efficient, profitable growth, and ideally have experience supporting retail/omnichannel distribution (e.g., retail sell-in/sell-through, shopper marketing, retail media).
  • You’re equally strong as a strategist and operator — you can build the plan and roll up your sleeves to execute it.
  • You’ve successfully launched and scaled consumer products and understand how to build acquisition + retention engines across performance and lifecycle channels
  • You thrive in fast-paced, scrappy environments and know how to prioritize what truly moves the business.
  • You communicate clearly, confidently, and with conviction, especially when partnering with founders who care deeply about brand and marketing - you can challenge, align, and influence in ways that build trust.
  • You bring a data-driven mindset, strong analytical instincts, and the ability to translate insights into clear actions.
  • You have experience building and leading small teams, including hiring, coaching, and developing marketing talent.
  • You are comfortable working with modern DTC and analytics tools (e.g., Shopify or similar platforms, GA4, ESP/CRM, Amazon analytics) and collaborating with agencies or data partners as needed.
  • You are authorized to work in the United States and able to work in-office in Brooklyn, NY.

The final offer will be determined by a candidate’s experience and skill level. Compensation includes a yearly bonus structure, along with additional company benefits (e.g., 401k, health plan).
