Overview
At Advocate, our mission is to empower Americans to obtain the government support they've earned. Advocate aims to reduce long wait times and bureaucratic obstacles of the current government benefits application process by developing a unified intake system for the Social Security Administration, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, crossed with the knowledge and experience of our small team of EDPNA’s and case managers.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Social Security Disability Case Manager who is passionate about our mission and has a deep understanding of the inner workings of the Social Security Disability office. We are currently a small team, but we are growing our client base rapidly. We are seeking team members who are flexible and comfortable with a fast paced environment, while always putting our claimants first.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a set of client cases from start to finish. As a case manager, you will serve as the point of contact from a claimants initial application with the Social Security Disability office, through the reconsideration process, as well as assisting with appeals and hearing level cases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial interviews with potential clients to determine eligibility for Social Security Disability benefits
  • Explain the Social Security Disability process and set expectations for timeline and required medical documentation
  • Collect detailed medical records, work history, and other supporting documentation from clients
  • Understand and analyze medical evidence to build a strong case for disability approval
  • Prepare and submit thorough disability applications to the Social Security Administration
  • Build rapport with our clients through regular follow ups on application status and responding to requests for additional information
  • Collaborate with doctors, healthcare providers, vocational experts, and others involved in the disability case
  • Clearly explain decisions and next steps to clients throughout the process
  • Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, applications, denials, appeals, etc.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the Social Security Disability system
  • EDPNA certification a strong plus
  • Medical records analysis and summarization experience
  • Desire for continuous and on-the-job learning
  • Compassionate, client service and advocacy mindset
  • Proficient with web based software and communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex medical information
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
